Proyección sobre niño is a video installation located within an area where there is no light. The art piece is a sculpture in the shape of a downcast child who is constantly being bombarded by images of violence in television media (mainly in the news), broadcasted daily. The video which is projected onto the wire and clay sculpture is made up of several small fragments of news that last only seconds, and succeed each other. This projection generates an effect and feeling of continuous changes in colors and texture.

The purpose of this video installation is to expose the violence of the society in which we live, and how we are exposed to this type of content as children. It also seeks to show how we have lost sensitivity, becoming almost indifferent and unconcerned with daily newspapers, the internet or television, and their increasing displays of violence.

The television media is a clear example of how confusing it can be to regulate for the protection of children. Under the pretext of “ freedom of expression”, media outlets produce content which often incites violence and is within reach of children, one of the most vulnerable groups in society.
