Jorge Alberto Ayllón

b. 1993, Lima, Peru
Lives and works in Lima

He began his studies of Graphic Design in 2011 at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and subsequently transferred in 2013 to Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes Corriente Alterna. In 2016, he moved to France and enrolled in Paris College of Art, where he attained a title in Fine Arts in 2018. During the past years, Ayllón has been developing a polymorphous work through several media: installation, painting, video and sculpture.

His work is centered around the concept of memory, which he explores via the impermanence of things: the passing of time; what is visible, hidden and imperceptible from what he finds around him, interpreted through his own lens by a certain use of elements: light, paint and dynamism. His poetry often manifests itself as moments captured in time, experiences and views on how reality can be seen as a fictional imaginary landscape.

Ayllón focuses on investigating archives, depictions of the world and the contemporary approach to the landscape as portrayed on everyday media. The interactions between man and nature, the loss and disappearance of traces in time are also among his major themes. By drawing inspiration from his surroundings, he creates alternative visions of reality.
